So Childbirthing class on Saturday went really well - I was prepared to review different Breathing techniques (repeat after me; "hee, hee - whooo") and pain coping techniques but was surprised to also learn great tips on dealing with the 'siblings' reaction to the new baby. We learned that usually any acting out happens around the 3 month mark - so we'll be watching for this and working to make the transition easier for Kalina. The teacher mentioned that spending one-on-one time with Kalina with OUT the baby will be key to an easier transition.
We also learned that my first labor is a good predictor of subsequent labors and that in general the 2nd labor is half(?!) the time. I don't think thats even possible - my first labor was 4.5 hours - theres NO way this baby could possibly make it out in 2 hours. Or is there?! Needless to say - we've devised Plan A - F for when it 'happens' and quite frankly I'll be praying that it happens in the middle of the night.
