40 week appt ...

(actually Im not 40 weeks til Saturday)

Everything looked good but my BP was up this time.
She checked it again at the end of the appt and it had went down slightly - so she wants me back tomorrow morning to re-check it. If it were up again she would want to talk about inducing. Im pretty confident that it wont be high tomorrow.

Weight gain was fine, urine was good, Baby's HB was strong.

Then she checked my fluid - she said it was low but not low enough to worry. She wants me to make my appt for next Wed. Next wed she will check the fluid again and if it were too low she will induce Thursday, Oct 30th.

Do we sense a theme here??? Apparently my Doc is a little induce-happy, no?? Honestly, she's not - I think she is just covering all bases with me. She knows how much I want to avoid an induction so shes trying to let me know the only things that would put me in the position to be induced.

And to wrap up the appt - she said if everything ends up checking out fine she will let me go until Mon., Nov 3rd before (lets say it together;) INDUCING ME.

Hopefully Brooklyn isnt too comfortable in there and will decide to come out before then ... maybe she wants to be a little monster and come on Halloween.

Welp - thats that. and I continue to wait.

Got the Dirtiest Look Ever Today ...

My darling, patient, loving husband has put up with a week of hormonal, fat,and somewhat uncomfortable 'ole me this week ... and to thank him for enduring my less than pleasant moments, I planned on indulging him in one of his recent cravings ...

He mentioned that he was having a hankering for an Apple Martini.

So today I figured I'd have one ready for him when he got off of work today. I took a quick trip down to luckys only to find that they didnt sell any good vodka (wierd) so I ran over to the lovely little Liquor Store on the corner. I HATE going in there ... but I knew theyd have it.

Sure enough, they had a few good choices - I grabbed a bottle and headed for the counter. The line was of course 7 people long and everyone needed to buy AND redeem their lotto tickets & scratchers ... sigh ... Finally I got to the front of the line and the man doesnt say much, in fact he didnt even look me in the eye. Strange. Then he looks at the man behind me and gives a huge rolly eyed, ugly look as if to shame me for my purchase. Then I remembered what I was buying, and of course how large my stomach currently is ... haha. It was amusing how blatant he was with his disgust about my purchase. I wanted to also ask for a pack of unfiltered camels just to really ruffle his feathers. I mean seriously sir, do you only purchase things that you intend on consuming yourself? Does my pregnant belly make me unfit to make certain purchases without being embarrassed by it???

I wanted to scream at him, "look jackasss, not that its ANY of your business but its NOT FOR ME. Im just a good wife trying to do something sweet for my husband and help him be slightly better equipped to deal with me and my 9 months pregnant attitude! mmmkay? thankyouuu. ... haveaniceday."

but instead i walked off embarrassed.

Oh well - D appreciated his apple-tini :)

39 weeks ...

My 39 week appt was uneventful ...
My OB said that Im where I was last week - 1.5cm dilated and 70% effaced, although the head is definitely lower.

But I am on maternity leave now so Ive been doing lots of nesting all week.

... I cleaned up around the house, have completely caught up on laundry, cleaned out my car and even did some business cards for a very cool jewelry designer (strawberry jam designs).

Other than that - I'm just patiently waiting and trying not to drive my husband crazy. Thankfully, he has a coworker who also has a 9 month pregnant wife right now ... they get to commiserate together. I'm so thankful because it helps D realize that while it might SEEM like I'm going crazy somedays ... its actually very normal pregnant behavior. ;)

Plus he might feel a little crazy if he were carrying around something the size of a watermelon day in day out too ...

Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

See what my baby looks like this week;
