Sore Throat, Week 3

Yes - I know I havent posted much lately but to be honest, Ive felt far from blogworthy lately.

Ive pretty much had a sore throat for the past 3 weeks straight.

I went to the Dr. after the first few days and they said the sore throat was caused by a virus (I was coughing & had a runny nose as well)

Then I went again a few days later since it wasnt getting ANY better (I was scared I had strep.) I caught flack from most of them because I kept insisting it was strep. I know they were rolling there eyes as they left the room, as I sit there being a complete crybaby over a sore throat. I didnt care ... I was on day 10 of said sore throat and was certain it was more than a virus.

Needless to say, The strep culture was negative and they again said it was a virus. They told me I needed to give it time. My husband even went so far as to tell me Im just not "used" to being sick and thats why it seemed so bad. Right. So my throat doesnt really hurt so bad that Im losing weight because I cant fricken EAT?! Okay - so obviously Im getting a little grumpy too.

The days kept passing and the sore throat isnt going away - Ive gargled with salt water, used a humidifier, gargled with more salt water, tried Hydrogen Peroxide gargle, drank hot tea, ate spoonfuls of honey, and even tried to 'think' myself better. (My Brother told me if I told myself I felt better, then I would feel better.)

Anyhow - now I sit here on day 21 of this lovely sore throat. Now Im convinced I have mono. Now I get to watch them roll there eyes at this diagnosis. Its that or a sinus infection ...

baby blogging is hard with a baby.

I try to post pics as often as possible for all my family & friends that I dont get to see often enough and that arent able to see Brooklyn & Kalina as they grow and change daily.

But Ive come to realize that blogging after having the baby isnt as easy (or as interesting) as before the baby. One hand typing doesnt make for a happy blogger, or baby, for that matter. Plus, I have to save nap-times for catching up on my other to-do's.

However - I will report that Brooklyn has become accustomed to being held in the past few weeks. She wont have it any other way and I think its costing me my sanity. I truly look forward to my anatomy class so that my hands are my own for at least a few hours straight. Well, in all honesty, they're at the mercy of my anatomy teacher (as I take notes furiously) but at least she doesnt make me hold her the entire time. :P

ooops I think I hear her yelling for me now ... better go.

My Chubby Bubby

Brooklyn had her 4 month Doctor Appointment today and got more shots :( Everything went really well and shes right on track developmentally.

4 month stats:
15 lbs 10 oz (90th percentile for weight)
26 inches (95th percentile for height)

Dr. N said shes definitely teething although theres no telling when theyll make their appearance. That explains the oh-so-fun nightwaking. :P Shes grabbing anything and everything, stares at food and anyone eating food, she laughs and makes raspberries and is still the chattiest baby I know.
